“Space disco” is the design theme for the spring/summer Skaga collection. Our creative design team has looked to the skies for inspiration for yet another collection from Skaga with a completely unique style.
The winter street has been sprinkled with sidepieces and corners, the feeling of minerals can again be found in the way the acetate has been worked, and glitterball mirrors are reflected in the faceting on two men’s styles. Together with galaxies and meteorites they reappear in our theme and can be seen in our unique interpretation of Skaga’s new styles.
Glimmering skies in in the macrocosmos, and crystal formation on a molecular level have been our inspiration for nearly 18 months, from the first line we drew for our spring/summer collection. “Space disco” is the result of sound design and product development work, where an instinct for fashion has been brought together with skilled craftsmanship to create an exciting and colourful collection.

Skaga - the brand
Skaga is Scandinavian Eyewear’s very own brand. Solid, genuine and rich in tradition, it has a history that goes back to 1948. This heritage and history that few eyewear brands can compare to means that Skaga glasses are created with real craftsmanship. But they are also visionary, aware and innovative. Through our committed and driven design and product development team, we are constantly looking to the future and strive to remain at the forefront of our industry, whether this means developing materials and technology or design and expression. The combination means that the Skaga brand’s ability to mix tradition with trend is almost unique.
Skaga’s basic collection is broad and classic in both fit and style. The brand is constantly updated with concept collections with a slightly sharper style. The most recent example is Skaga Originals by Sighsten Herrgård, which have attracted a lot of attention from trendsetting glasses wearers, as well as from opinion formers and the media.
The designers behind Skaga 2012 are Anna Mälstad, Gustav Kristensson and Eva-Lena Bäckstöm.
